CHOLESTEROL IS FINALLY OFFICIALLY REMOVED FROM NAUGHTY LIST;


The US government has finally accepted that cholesterol is not a 'nutrient of concern', doing a U-turn on their warnings
In the meantime of 40 years US Drug Industry in connivance with Health Department made over 1.5 trillion US Dollars by selling cholestrol lowering drugs. This fear probably caused death of a million gulliable citizen who believe the US drug industry. (My comment)

Cholesterol has been on the "naughty" list of nutrients for nearly 40 years, with health officials warning us to stay away from high-cholesterol foods since the 1970s to avoid heart disease and clogged arteries.
"Full-fat dairy products and advocados are high in good fats."
But US officials have finally given the green light for a U-turn on previous warnings, which means eggs, butter, full-fat dairy products, nuts, coconut oil and meat have now been classified as "safe" and have been officially removed from the "nutrients of concern" list.
The US Department of Agriculture, which is responsible for updating the guidelines every five years, stated in its findings for 2015: "Previously, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommended that cholesterol intake be limited to no more than 300 mg/day.
"The 2015 DGAC will not bring forward this recommendation because available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum (blood) cholesterol, consistent with the AHA/ACC (American Heart Association / American College of Cardiology) report.
"Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern for overconsumption."
"Eggs are no longer on the 'naughty list'. "
The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will, in response, no longer warn people against eating high-cholesterol foods and will instead focus on sugar as the main substance of dietary concern.
The 70s, 80s and 90s were the 'non fat' years, with the government warning people to limit the amount of high-cholersterol foods in their diets to avoid heart disease and strokes.
But nutritionists and scientists have long been campaigning for the U-turn, which started with introducing "good cholesterols" back into the 'safe zone'.
US cardiologist Dr Steven Nissen said: "It's the right decision. We got the dietary guidelines wrong. They've been wrong for decades."
He esitmated that about 20 per cent of cholesterol levels in your blood come from your diet, which means the rest is produced by your liver and is actually needed by the body.
Dr Chris Masterjohn added:“Since we cannot possibly eat enough cholesterol to use for our bodies’ daily functions, our bodies make their own.
"When we eat more foods rich in this compound, our bodies make less. If we deprive ourselves of foods high in cholesterol - such as eggs, butter, and liver - our body revs up its cholesterol synthesis."
"Nuts were previously thought to contain too much cholesterol."
Sugar has now been identified as the "worst" food culprit for health problems, with GPs now focusing on weaning patients off the sweet stuff.
Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra, who works with group Action On Sugar, says a clamp-down on the food industry is next.
He said: "It's very clear that added sugar has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever and, contrary to what the food industry want you to believe, the body doesn't require any carbohydrate for energy from added sugar.
"And we know the food industry have been spiking our food with added sugars. We also know that carbohydrates and particularly refined carbohydrates - so carbohydrates that lack fibre, sugar being one of them - have the biggest impact on insulin in terms of surges of insulin in our body. And insulin is a fat storing hormone." So, in summary, ditch your skinny latte for a full-fat latte and get some avocados down you.

Renal Stones/Calculi - Unani Herbal Remedies


Renal stones/calculi are also known as "Pathri" in Unani System because of their contour.  Stones are usually found in the kidneys, ureters or urinary bladder.



CAUSES


Food habits and hereditary factors are considered to be the causes.  Decreased water consumption, excessive intake of nonvegetarian food and alcohol may also encourage stone formation.  Patients with sedentary lifestyle are also prone to renal calculi.



SYMPTOMS


The most prominent symptom of renal calculi is pain which gets aggravated with movement.  Pain originates from the back and radiates downwards and towards the front.  If the stone damages the kidney, ureters, bladder or the urethra, bleeding may occur and will appear in the urine.  Severe pain may be experienced if the stone gets impacted in the urinary tract.  There will be difficulty in passing urine.



According to Avicenna, the Arab physician, if there is pain felt in the inner aspects of the thighs and if the pain later subsides, then it may be considered that the stone has come down from the ureters or kidneys to the bladder.



TREATMENTS



1) Arom seeds or leaves (also known as ajwain or Trachyspermum ammi).
Regular use of the above prevents renal stone formation.  Daily intake of carom seed powder mixed with honey will break down and eliminate the renal stones.  Carom seeds are widely used in many Indian dishes.

  
 
2)  Holy basil (Tulsi) Juice 50ml with Honey 5 ml

Mixture of the above 2 ingredients to be taken daily for 3 months.  This will dissolve and eliminate the kidney stones.





3) Cumin (Cuminum cyminum/Sufaid Zeera) 1 gram,
   Kaknaj (Physalis alkekengi) 1 gram,
    Rock sugar (misri) 3 grams

The above 3 components to be finely poweredered and taken 3 times a day.  Helps in dissolving the stone and clearing the passage.

Unani Medicine for Diabetes Treatment (Zayabetus)


Dibetes(Zayabetus) is one of the most important lifestyle related disorders that is mostly widespread in urban areas. Diabetes (Zayabetus) is characterized by Excessive thrust, Excessive urination, Excessive increase of appetite, and collapse of sexual function. The disease is associated with Polydypsia (Atash-e-Mufrit) and Polyuria (Kasrat –e-Baul).
In case of Diabetes (Zayabetus), level of sugar in blood increases due to lesser production of Insulin through Pancreas.

Symptoms of diabetes (zayabetus)

  •  Frequent Urination

Causes of zayabetus

Unani medicine for Diabetes cure

  1.  Kernel of Jamun Seeds (Syzygium cumini): Jamun seeds are very helpful in controlling sugar and help to ease from diabetic symtom. It is a good question how to use Jamun Kernel. For this, take about 50-70 grams of Jamun Kernel; dry it and make fine powder of the same. Use the mixture twice a day along with water.  Chewing of Jamun leaves are also suggested to Diabetic patients.
  2. Neem for Diabetes Cure (Azadirachta indica): Neem is very useful in purifying of blood. For diabetic treatment, tender shoot of neem is used. Take 50 grams of tender neem leaves and grind it in 100 ml of water. Strain the mixture. It is suggested that the extract should be taken in the morning for better solution to Zayabetus (diabetes).  Neems are also used in the form of Neem powder and toothpaste (for strong teeth).
  3. Binola Seeds for Diabetes Cure-Cotton seeds (Gossypium herbaceum) reduce blood sugar due to the presence of natural antioxidants Borage oil. To make cotton seed extract, take 2 gram of cotton seeds. Boil these seeds in 1000 ml of water until reduce to 300ml. Strain the mixture and use the extract twice a day.
  4. Falsa Berry and Diabetes: Falsa berry is used in minimizing the symptoms of diabetes. For preparation of Falsa berry extract, take 10 gram of it. Soaked the recommended quantity of falsa overnight in 200 ml of water. Strain it and drink the same in the morning. It is a useful extract for diabetic patients.
  5. Bel Leaves and Diabetic Treatment: Grind some quantity of Bel (Aegle marmelos) leaves in about 100 ml water and strain the mixture. Drink the extract in the morning. Bel leaves are also used in the treatments of high blood pressure, menstrual problems, peptic ulcer, constipation, piles and indigestion.
  6. Kalonji Black cumin is also used in diabetic patients.

Unani diabetes prevention

  • Some forms of regular aerobic exercises are needed.
  • Take your diet as planned your dietary chart.
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking and sleeping at the day time
  • Sedentary lifestyle is harmful.
  • Stress, strain, tension, anxiety should be avoided.
  • Do Yogasana, Pranayama and Meditation
  • Avoid fast, junk, non-veg., and sugary foods.
  • Preferred short interval meals.
  • Sound sleep of about 7-8 hours should be taken at night only.
  • Weight maintains should be given importance as per sex, age and height.

OBESITY AND UNANI TREATMENT




Obesity is excess accumulation of fat tissues beyond the limitation of the skeletal and muscular requirement. Weight of normal persons of 25 years of age in relation to their height. Because that is the prime age when the skeleto-muscular structure is well-developed & physical adjustment to adulthood is at its peak. The vital organs would have reached optimum capacity to carry out their functions. So any increase in weight as one age must be in keeping with the average of what it was at the age of 25. If not, it is always detrimental to good health.

TYPES OF OBESITY

The two types of obesity android & gynoid. Android in the male type of obesity where excess fat is marked in the upper half of the body.

Android

Android type of obesity is shape of like an apple. The shoulders, face, arms, neck, chest & upper portion of the abdomen are bloated. The stomach gives a stiff appearance. The neck is compressed and there will be protruding chest because of the bulk in the stomach. The lower portion of the body the hips, thighs & legs are thinner beyond proportion in comparison with the upper part. This typed of obesity is found more in males some females also found. It occurs in females around menopause too due to thyroid gland's functional disturbance. In this type, the excess flesh is less likely to reduce especially in female than males. Android type of obesity is a major risk for heart damage & heart disease due to high cholesterol.

Gynoid

This type of obesity is also common to both sexes. In this type the lower part of the body has the extra flesh and is similar to pears. The flesh is somewhat flabby in the abdomen, thighs, buttocks & legs. The face & neck mostly give a normal appearance. In some persons, the cheeks may be drawn too. As these persons grow old the whole figure assumes a stooping posture and the spine is never erect due to the heavy hips & thighs. This vital organs affected mostly are the kidneys, uterus, intestines, bladder & bowls. But the functions of these organs some times have a direct effect on the heart.

In this type of obesity, exercises or dieting will not help appreciably in reducing weight. Here unani medicine is the only hope. One should have more patience & undertake proper treatment to achieve the coal of reducing weight & preventing further weight again.

The third type: - Besides android & gynoid, there is one more type of obesity. Some persons neither belong to android or to gynoid category. Their whole body from head to toe looks like a barrel. Their gait is more to rolling rather than walking. The fat tissues in their body hinder the movement of all the internal organs & consequently affect their brisk functioning. For them any exercise is difficult due to the enormous size of the body. So such person should follow a strict in diet & do plenty of exercise. But unani medicines & treatment help successfully in reducing weight.

UNANI TREATMENT

  • Safoof Mohazil 5gm with 20 ml Arq Zeera twice a day
  • Take 5ml Shahad (Honey) with one cup of water and drink at morning in empty stomach 
  • Neebu Ras(Lemon juice) is quite effective for obesity patients. 5-10 ml of Nembu ras is mixed with one glass of water and should be taken on empty stomach in the morning. The mix is very useful for melting of adipose tissue from the body as well as weight loss. However, it is recommended to take the above mix once a day, otherwise, the person may experience loose motion or some digestive problems .
  • Jawarish Kamoni Akber 5gm with Sikanjabeen Lemoni 10ml twice a day.
  • One gram of Luke –e-Maghsool may be taken with water in the morning for getting positive impacts for obesity.
  • 2pills of Habbe Mohazil and 2pills of Qurs Tinkar twice a day with 5gm Ithrifal Sanai at bed time.
